As if defeating Lord Voldemort was already hard enough, Harry Potter was left reeling in the Half Blood Prince when he was informed that He Who Must Not Be Named had taken measures to ensure he was, pretty much, immortal. The Dark Lord had, years previously, chosen to create Horcruxes - tiny bits of your soul that are stored inside an object to ensure your survival. Harry then spends the best part of 18 months tracking down the items, getting rid of them one by one before besting Voldemort himself during an epic final showdown at the battle of Hogwarts....

The Harry Potter movies play host to a number of amazing and beautiful locations, each one wanting you to live in the Potterverse more than the next. Whether it be the beauty of Hogwarts castle itself, the darkness of the Forbidden Forrest or even the coziness of The Burrow, there’s no denying that the movies succeeded in making the world as immersive and spectacular as possible. With that in mind, we now take a look at the eight Harry Potter movies and pick our favorite location from each one....

BBC and HBO’s new series His Dark Materials has set an official November release date. Based on the young adult book series of the same name by British author Philip Pulman, the fantasy epic follows a young girl named Lyra Belacqua who sets out on a journey to find her best friend who has mysteriously gone missing in the midst of a series of child abductions. The story is set in a world that strikingly resembles the UK’s Victorian-era but, unlike our world, people’s souls exist outside of their bodies as creatures called dæmons....

In Harry Potter, there are many characters that start out on the side of the dark arts and have somewhat of a redemption arc. One notable example of this is Draco Malfoy. While his redemption arc doesn’t get as much attention as Snape’s, he was also quite young when he got pulled into the side of the Death Eaters because of his parents. He grows up to be not nearly as bad as he was raised to be....

As far as Harry Potter Hogwarts houses are concerned, it’s Gryffindors and Slytherins that are usually discussed. In the books, Gryffindor gets the most coverage because Harry - and most of his friends - are Gryffindors. This also means that Gryffindor is presented in a somewhat biased light. Since most of the villains are Slytherins, they also get discussed often, but usually in a negative light. The other two houses might not get as much coverage, but they definitely deserve more exploration....

Heading into WWDC, Apple isn’t exactly getting off to the best of starts. While outlining my view of Apple’s overall handling of the antitrust charges leveled against it, I mentioned one of the specific issues the company faces: the nature of its relationship with developers. Twenty-four hours later, things have gotten worse rather than better. First, Microsoft said that Apple and Google have a bigger antitrust case to answer than the Redmond company did some twenty years ago....

Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet is slated to launch on Apple TV+ this Friday, February 7th. It’s the first comedy that will arrive on Apple’s streaming service and we got a first look trailer giving a better idea of what to expect from the show as well as some commentary from the cast and co-creator/executive producer/star Rob McElhenney. Mythic Quest was created by It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia alum Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, and Megan Ganz....

As we reported in May, Apple is working on a split-screen multitasking feature for iPad apps for a version of iOS 8. The feature, akin to the key productivity function on the Microsoft Surface, was not announced at WWDC last week, but code references to the feature have been found across the iOS 8 Software Development Kit. Now, developer Steven Troughton-Smith has dug further into the upcoming split-screen multitasking feature and has hacked the iOS 8 iPad Simulator to make the function partially work....

The witches and wizards in the Harry Potter universe are gifted with extraordinary abilities in magic. Even the witches and wizards that are nearly squibs would undoubtedly be envied by the powerless muggle world, and once the magicians in the Harry Potter world have the appropriate tools and training they can often make near miracles happen with nothing more than a flick of their wand. The Severus Snape audiences met in the Harry Potter films is not exactly the character that was shown in the books. In 1997, readers all over the world were introduced to J.K Rowling’s fantasy universe in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, which was the beginning of a saga that ended ten years later with a total of seven novels. The saga was adapted to the big screen from 2001 to 2011 with the last book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, divided into two films....

HBO’s TV series Watchmen, led by showrunner and devoted fan of the series Damon Lindelof, is set 34 years after the events of Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore’s classic DC limited series. Eagle-eyed viewers will note that some of the show’s scenes look familiar; this is because episode directors Nicole Kassell, Stephen Williams, Andrij Parekh, and Steph Green have included some of Watchmen’s most iconic images in the HBO adaptation....

Hell’s Kitchen is Gordon Ramsay’s competitive reality television show where chefs compete to win a $250 million dollar salary as executive chef at a five-star restaurant. Over the 18 seasons that this show has had, we’ve had some pretty close finale calls which ended up with disappointed viewers and fan of the show. Although we all trust Ramsay to choose the best man or woman for the job, there have been a few seasons where the winners were questionable....

Windows 10 version 1703 brought with it new features in terms of security for a Windows device. This includes the addition of Windows Defender Antivirus in the Windows security section. So now Windows users don’t need a third-party antivirus program anymore. All they need is the latest version of Windows installed on their system. Having the latest version of Windows will mean the Windows defender antivirus program will have the latest definitions....

Of all the characters from Harry Potter, the group of friends known as the Marauders might be some of the most popular with fans. Sirius Black, James Potter, and Remus Lupin are all beloved. While they are kind of minor characters that don’t get a lot of direct focus, the stories of these friends during their time at Hogwarts is interesting to many fans of the series. The Marauders, excluding Peter Pettigrew, are all complex characters that have flaws as well as many strengths....

There are a lot of big bad baddie squads in fiction, but there are very few organizations that are scarier or more repulsive than the Death Eaters. These dark wizards and witches follow the most evil dark wizard of all time, Lord Voldemort. These characters are severely lacking in redeeming qualities, and they don’t even bother treating each other with the smallest shred of kindness that they can muster. No one who knows of the Death Eaters would expect them to be kind to anyone, but they could be nasty to one another too....

Back in September we reported that Apple was developing a feature to help users find their parked cars for its in-house Maps app. While that feature wasn’t officially debuted during WWDC last week, new icons found inside the Maps application indicate that the feature was in development at some point and is likely still be worked on. As we originally noted: As seen in the screenshot above, Apple’s latest mapping software contains six images dedicated to the parked car location feature, each a purple pin with a car-shaped glyph....

Grimmauld Place is the tattered house of the Black family. Hidden between two unsuspecting London apartments, the place plays host to a variety of bizarre happenings, as well as a few more heart-warming moments.
