The Hillywood Show’s Supernatural “Shake It Off parody is a cameo-laden affair. The first season of Supernatural had estranged brothers Sam and Dean Winchester working together to find their missing father John (Jeffery Dean Morgan, The Walking Dead). John raised his sons to hunt supernatural creatures and each episode found them fighting various demons, ghosts, and monsters. Thanks to the chemistry of the two leads and an endless array of creative creatures and villains, the show lasted fifteen seasons.

The Winchesters have had a long journey over the course of Supernatural’s 300 + episodes. Despite the wealth of cool lore and supporting characters, the show hasn’t spawned a spinoff thus far. Offshoots titled Supernatural: Bloodlines and Wayward Sisters have been pitched but they failed to move ahead. That said, the show received an animated spinoff with Supernatural: The Anime Series in 2011.

One major reason Supernatural lasted fifteen years is its passionate fanbase. The Winchesters brothers and co have attracted a strong cult following over the years, who are understandably upset its coming to an end. In 2015 The Hillywood Show - consisting of comedy sisters Hilly and Hannah Hindi - put together a Supernatural parody that paid homage to the show’s Mark of Cain plotline. The video is set to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” and the sisters managed to attract quite a few cameo dancers too - here’s every Supernatural cast member who pops up and the character they play on the show.

In addition to the cast joyously dancing to “Shake It Off,” Osric Chan also plays Sam Winchester to Hilly Hindi’s Dean. Hannah Hindi plays Castiel while Rob Benedict is having fun as Cain. The entire video is a loving tribute to Supernatural, so even if the whole thing is intensely silly and tongue-in-cheek, its hard to fault its energy. Of course, Dean and Sam would know better than to literally try and shake off the Mark of Cain, but artistic license is allowed.

The Hillywood Show returned in 2018 for another Supernatural video that also parodied Ghostbusters, which was another delightful, cameo strewn affair. The attention to detail in these Supernatural videos is the key to their success, from Hilly’s spot-on impression of Jensen Ackles’ trademark smother to accurate recreations of key sets. The Hillywood Show has also put together parodies of everything from The Lord Of The Rings To Suicide Squad.
