High Fidelity season 2 could certainly happen on Hulu, and here’s everything we know about it. Starring Zoë Kravitz as a Brooklyn record store owner, the High Fidelity TV show is based on Nick Hornby’s eponymous 1995 novel and the 2000 movie adaption starring John Cusack.
In High Fidelity season 1, the owner of Championship Vinyl, Rob (Kravitz), reflects about her biggest heartbreaks and all the carefully-curated playlists they inspired. Rob forms a relationship with genuine nice guy Clyde (Jake Lacy), but feels drawn to her most recent ex-boyfriend, Mac (Kingsley Ben-Adir), who recently returned to New York City. To complicate matters, Mac is a long-time friend of Rob’s brother, Cam (Rainbow Sun Francks), and he’s also engaged to a well-intentioned woman named Lily (Dana Drori). High Fidelity season 1 shows how and why Mac decided to end his brief engagement to Rob, and includes supporting performances from Da’Vine Joy Randolph and David H. Holmes as Rob’s employees Cherise and Simon, respectively.
The High Fidelity season 1 finale includes a dramatic confrontation scene involving Rob, along with tender moments that reinforce her good intentions as a loyal friend and boss. High Fidelity Season 2 Renewal
Hulu hasn’t greenlit High Fidelity season 2 yet. Given the overall positive reviews, there’s a strong chance that the streaming service will produce a second season. For context, Hulu released the comedy series Dollface in November 2019 and ordered a second season in January 2020. It seems likely that High Fidelity season 2 will be announced before the end of winter 2020, if it does, indeed, end up happening.

Various streaming services have stayed consistent with a one-season-per-year model for traditional comedy and drama series. The 10 episodes of High Fidelity season 1 are around 30 minutes each, so production for new episodes could theoretically begin and conclude by the end of the year. Expect Hulu to stick with a Valentine’s Day release date concept, which means that High Fidelity season 2 could release sometime in February 2021.

High Fidelity season 1 on Hulu ends with Rob making a conscious decision to be more vulnerable. And that seems to be a good decision, as it’s revealed that she previously cheated on Mac on the evening they became engaged. Rob’s friends support her as always, and Cherise even receives a special gift from her Championship Vinyl boss; an electric guitar that will allow her to pursue creative interests more proactively. Meanwhile, Simon appears to be in a good place after moving on from the past. But what’s next for Rob?
After a couple intense arguments with Cam, Rob softens up when she becomes a new auntie. She has a heart-to-heart with Clyde, who sees little potential for a romantic relationship. Still, there’s a “nine-percent” chance. High Fidelity season 2 will likely show Rob’s evolution as a woman while dating Clyde, but the major conflict will theoretically derive from what could have been with Mac, as they were genuinely happy together and mutually acknowledge the true reason for their breakup - Rob’s inability to fully commit. But maybe a new love interest will emerge for Rob in High Fidelity season 2 on Hulu.
