HBO Max’s upcoming Gossip Girl TV show casts Emily Alyn Lind, most recently seen in Doctor Sleep, as a character named Audrey. HBO announced last summer that they were working on the Gossip Girl reboot, and that it would premiere on their new streaming network. Created by Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz, the original show aired on The CW for six seasons from 2007 to 2012, and was a huge hit for the channel.

According to Deadline, Lind has been cast as one of the leads on the show. Her character “has been in a long term relationship and is beginning to wonder what more could be out there.” She’s the first casting announced so far besides Kristen Bell, who voiced Gossip Girl in the original and is returning as the narrator. Savage and Schwartz are also returning as executive producers.

Besides Doctor Sleep (directed by Mike Flanagan), Lind has had roles in Code Black and Revenge, and most recently appears in the Facebook Watch anthology series Sacred Lies. Currently airing, she stars alongside Juliette Lewis and Ryan Kwanten in the dark mystery about a small town cold case. Considering many of the main stars of the original Gossip Girl have gone on to have successful careers and are still appearing in TV series now, HBO Max’s reboot has the potential to launch Lind’s career to a new level.

The original Gossip Girl starred Blake Lively (A Simple Favor) as Serena van der Woodsen, Leighton Meester (Single Parents) as Blair Waldorf, and Penn Badgley (You) as Dan Humphrey. There is no word on a release date yet.
