Spoilers for Hawkeye: Freefall #5 below

Among the most talented archers in the Marvel Universe, Hawkeye reigns supreme. However, there’s another talented marksman who dawned the Hawkeye moniker that’s almost just as sharp with the bow and arrow and ready to take on Clint Barton: Bullseye.

Bullseye is mostly known as a Daredevil villain with the mastered ability to throw weapons with extreme accuracy. Bullseye rarely misses his targets. Back in the Dark Reign storyline, Bullseye assumed the role of Hawkeye on the Dark Avengers - a supergroup starring villains in heroes’ roles. Make no mistake, that version of Hawkeye wasn’t a hero - as he killed the Sentry’s wife among his many misdeeds. Now, Bullseye is ready to take on Clint Barton in previews for Hawkeye: Freefall #5.

Hawkeye: Freefall #1 by Matthew Rosenberg, Otto Schmidt, and Kim Jacinto saw the Avenger take on a villain called the Hood. In the meantime, a new version of Ronin shows up and Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes both question Clint on whether he’s the man behind the mask. The trio goes on a stakeout for Ronin and ends up getting the pulp beat out of them.

Previews for Hawkeye #5 indicate that Hawkeye has some sort of relationship to Ronin which causes all kinds of problems for Clint. With the Hood raging on, Hawkeye finds himself face-to-face with another former Hawkeye… and it isn’t Kate Bishop. It’s Bullseye.

Hawkeye taking on the former Hawkeye is going to be a tactical fight filled with plenty of accurate shots. The two characters are arguably the most accurate shooters in all of Marvel Comics. Although, Clint is probably facing off against a version of Bullseye that doesn’t have the bow and arrow and has long abandoned the Hawkeye moniker. Still, if fighting Ronin and the Hood wasn’t enough of a challenge, now he’s got to worry about Bullseye. It’s just another day in the life of Hawkeye.
