The official Harry Potter fan club, WizardingWorld.com, now offers a gold subscription option that allows fans to gain access to more benefits, as well as exclusive content. WizardingWorld.com recently took the place of Pottermore, the previous official site of all things Harry Potter. Prior to that, Pottermore was fans’ first resource for Harry Potter news, as well as exclusive features.

Pottermore was full of fun activities, including an online Sorting Hat that worked for both Hogwarts and Ilvermorny, as well as tools to help fans pick their wands and find their Patronus. Rowling often shared her thoughts on the site about the world she created, as well as used it to release new e-books. Pottermore kept the spirit of Harry Potter alive, even after the book and film series ended. The wizarding world lives on now thanks to the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play, as well as the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them films.

Pottermore recently announced that it was closing its doors and moving fans over to WizardingWorld.com in a rebranding effort. Fans trying to access Pottermore are now redirected to the new site. WizardingWorld.com features the same content as Pottermore, although there is now a digital app to go along with it. However, there is one new feature that was not previously available. Now, WizardingWorld.com has announced a gold subscription service fans can pay for that will allow them even more access to the Potterverse. For $74.99 per year, fans can get access to all seven Harry Potter e-books, new video content and discounts for Harry Potter merchandise.

Subscribers will get exclusive gifts, including a personalized Keys and Curio journal, a postcard print of Rowling’s original sketch of Hogwarts and an exclusive Enchanted Key emblem pin badge. Subscribers will also be able to get special badges at select locations in the U.K. and U.S., as well as get priority booking for Harry Potter experiences, including tickets for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London. Other perks include early access to merchandise and more online quizzes and puzzles, as well as a chance to win Harry Potter-themed prizes.

One thing that fans will soon remember is that Pottermore was 100 percent free, making this potentially feel like a cash grab from a franchise that is already worth a lot of money. However, as long as Harry Potter remains popular, someone is going to make money off of it, so it might as well be Rowling and Warner Bros. Fans interested in signing up can do so at WizardingWorld.com.
