Harry Potter is, of course, the hero of the Wizarding World. He defeated Voldemort as a baby and a teen. He was a genius at Quidditch and Defense Against the Dark Arts. But, he was also a boy. There was magic involved, obviously, and the fate of the world, but Harry was also a boy and a teenager and did some very boy/teenager-y things, including being cruel to some of the people around him....

If events in the Harry Potter series had happened even slightly differently, Neville Longbottom might have been The Boy Who Lived. The prophecy could have easily been made for him, and he, too, was a brave Gryffindor who was instrumental in winning the Battle of Hogwarts and defeating Lord Voldemort. Neville doesn’t get enough credit for everything he did throughout his Hogwarts career, a time in which he grew and showed more progress than many other young witches and wizards....

Apple Arcade is a new subscription service that offers an entire catalog of games for $4.99 a month. In the world of YA fantasy adaptations, one of the most disappointing has always been The Golden Compass. Not because it was downright awful, but because it managed to make Lyra’s beautiful world of mysticism, witches, cowboys, and spirit creatures kinda boring.
