Starting off the Apple Special Event today, CEO Tim Cook welcomed HBO CEO Richard Pepler on stage to announce a new content deal for the Apple TV. HBO Now, the network’s premium, Internet-based subscription service, will debut exclusively on Apple TV next month. News of HBO and Apple being in talks to distribute the new HBO Now service first broke earlier this month after being announced last fall. HBO Now will be available within the HBO channel for $14....
HBO’s Watchmen has a couple of Easter eggs that shoutout to Zack Snyder’s 2009 film adaptation. Executive produced and written by Damon Lindelof, Watchmen is set 30 years after the events of the classic graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons - not Snyder’s movie. Lindelof’s ambitious “remix” of the superhero saga tackles many of the same complex political themes but he transplants the main story from 1985 New York City to 2019 Tulsa, Oklahoma....

Sky has negotiated a deal with WarnerMedia for the rights to air and work on HBO content, including from their upcoming HBO Max streaming service. As recently confirmed at WarnerMedia’s presentation of its upcoming streamer, HBO Max will launch in May 2020, with plenty of content from not only HBO but other Warner brands - like DC - and will include originals. Sky, a European based pay-TV operator based in the UK, has been working with HBO since 2010 and has gained plenty of subscribers through their content, which included Game of Thrones and Veep....

We shared yesterday that Apple’s newly released fifth developer beta version of iOS 9 adds a new collection of colorful, Retina showcasing default wallpapers for the iPhone.
